Remix Dance is a community-based dance school for youths of all ages specializing in recreational & competitive Hip Hop choreography. Our recreational and competitive classes run during the fall and winter and in the summer we host workshops.

Recreational Classes

Recreational classes are all typically once a week and depending on the program, you can register for a semester or the full year. Dancers participating in the full year and winter session will perform at the Year End Show

Recreational Preschool

Preschool_Remix

Type: Recreational
Price: $479 + HSTAge: 3-4
Date: September - May

Preschool Hip Hop teaches foundational dance concepts such as learning rhythms, imitating choreography, and developing body control. We teach classroom etiquette, such as taking turns, speaking up at the right time and following a lesson plan. All instruction takes place using kid-friendly Hip Hop music and movement, often integrated into games to keep our young ones motivated and having fun. This class is great for helping outgoing children to learn to express themselves properly in a group environment, as well as help those who are more shy to gain more confidence.

Preschool classes are all 45 min, once a week
Dancers learn Mix 1 from Sept to Dec
Dancers learn Mix 2 from Jan to April
Dancers learn a Finale number at the end of April. 
Dancers will then perform Mix 1, Mix 2 and the Finale number at their big Year End Show in May.

Recreational Kids & Teens

These classes are for those dancers who love Hip Hop and who love to dance just for fun. This program introduces dancers to the fundamental techniques and foundations of hip hop and develops the dancers musicality, coordination, confidence, performance skills and ability to pick up choreography.

Recreational classes are all 1 hour, once a week. 
Dancers learn Mix 1 from Sept to Dec, learn

These Hip Hop classes are for Adults 20 years and up. This class is designed for Adults as an introduction to basic Hip Hop dance. No dance experience is needed--just a willingness to have fun.There will be a choreographed routine that you will build on every week. These beginner/intermediate classes are easy to follow, calorie burning and just a fun dance fitness workout.

Adult Advanced

Are you a retired dancer who use to dance at a competitive level or advanced level? Do you miss dancing and have been thinking of starting up again but you don't have the time and commitment to dance competitively? Remix is now offering ALUMNI classes for either old Remix dancers or dancers from other backgrounds who would like to dance on a weekly basis with other people of their age and caliber. Students will learn 2 full choreographies to perform at the year end show.

Competitive classes and teams are a great opportunity to further your dance abilities with performances, competitions, and more challenging classes and workshops. Our Hype, Reckless and Thrive crews are for more advanced dancers and the individual city crews are open to various levels.

The Remix Dance competitive teams are regional and national award-winning. This program is offered to dancers who want to advance their technique, performance, drive, discipline, dedication, focus and passion. Our program aims to instill in each member the importance of upholding commitments, challenging oneself, working hard, achieving goals, and being a team player. Aside from gaining these values and skills, dancers also gain a lot of confidence, have more performance opportunities, make priceless memories, build lifelong friendships, and become a part of a great family atmosphere. If you want to take your dancing to the next level then a competitive team is for you!

Competitive Megacrew

Dancers in this program will be selected to be part of our NEW competitive megacrew named West Crew.  Dancers must be part of an existing competitive crew in order to be part of this team.  This is a large group formed of 15 dancers or more.  

All students must audition and be selected to be part of this team. Auditions are held at the end of August, so please check the Audition Schedule for all the info. Auditions for this crew are on the same day as the regular competitive crew auditions.  

Dancers will learn 1 Mix from Sept to March  
Dancers compete in 3 dance competitions
Dancers perform at all the Remix Shows

Family Discount

A family discount of $40 is applied to each additional registration when there is more than 1 student per immediate family. The discount will be applied automatically during the online registration process.

Student Discount for Boys

We're looking to include more boys in the remix dance family! All boys who register will receive a $150 discount on any recreational class. The discount will apply automatically when you register online.

Early Bird Discount

Enjoy a $50 discount on our Fall Programs when you register and pay in full by May 31st. Please note that this offer does not apply to our Summer Classes.  The discount will be applied automatically during the online registration process.

Megacrew

Megacrews are available for competitive dancers ages 7 and up.  Students must be part of one of our existing competitive crews in order to be eligible to compete in a large group number.  Students who wish to do so must pass a separate audition in order for it to be approved.  You must contact the Dance Director if you are interested in trying out.

Hip Hop Solos

Solos are available for competitive dancers ages 7 and up.  Students must be part of one of our existing competitive crews in order to be eligible to compete in a solo number.  Students who wish to do a solo must pass a separate audition in order for it to be approved.  You must contact the Dance Director if you are interested in trying out.

Frequently Asked Questions

1Can I register and pay in person?
We are currently only accepting online registrations.
2Where will the classes take place?
We teach classes in three different cities: Orleans, Embrun and Rockland. The class location is indicated in the table on the schedule page and on the individual clas pages.
3Are there any discounts available?
Yes, family discounts are offered when there is more than 1 student per immediate family. You save $20.00 per child. These rates do not apply if you are already using a Remix Coupon for the registration. The discount will apply automatically when you pay for each additional child online.
4What do I wear to dance class?
Dancers must wear appropriate dance clothes to class including running shoes. Any comfortable clothes or the Remix T-Shirt are permitted. No tight jeans allowed, no crop tops, no short shorts. The Remix T-Shirts will be handed out to students before November 1st.
5How to I download the music my child is dancing to so she can practice at home?
You must login to Remix portal (portal.remixdance.ca) in order to access our music mixes as these are for registered students only. After you have logged in, you will be presented with a link to Play & Download Mixes under your My Menu.
